I enjoy writing, creating useful content.
So I’m writing a couple of blogs a week for Getting More Customers, I’m also researching & writing content for Clients.
Now I know as people, we have different modalities for learning, VAK. Some are Visual, Some Auditory, while others prefer kinaesthetic or hands on. Most of us are blended learners, so we like to consume content, in different ways.
So I decided to go back over my blogs and start creating videos out of these blog posts.

Videos will allow me to reach a bigger audience because I can put them on YouTube & Facebook.
I could rattle off an impressive list of video stats proving how big video consumption is. But unless you’ve been living under a rock or in the depths of the Borneo Jungle, then you already know watching videos is Hot.
So now I have decided to turn my content into videos.
So my first question. How am I going to do this?… How do you turn Blog Posts into Videos?
Here’s one of my new videos.
What are the steps involved in the process of taking content from a blog and turning into a video?
If I was doing this in 2018, transforming words & graphics into videos is an arduous time consuming task. The steps would look like this.
I’m on a Mac So I’ll be mentioning Tools suitable for Mac, where possible I suggest windows Tools as well.
- Step 1 Get the Orginal doc. I write all my content in Google Docs before I run them through Grammarly to check for spelling & Grammar…
- Step 2 Copy Google Doc, so you still have access to the original copy. (You could use Word, Pages)…
- Step 3 Warning this step is complicated, Convert your text into Lecture Note Format like Harvard referencing style List & copy…
- Step 4 Open Keynote (Powerpoint) & select a theme Wide Format 16:9…
- Step 5 Paste into Navigator Sidebar, You should now see every sentence on a new slide in Keynote. This process is a bit buggy does not always work…
- Step 6 Select all in the slides Navigator & format Select Font, Font height & Colour. Depending on how many slides this could take a while…
- Step 7 Check each slide has been laid out properly & looks good…
- Step 8 Add graphics to your slides…
- Step 9 Run through your slides in presenter mode to make sure the sequence tells your compelling message…
The following steps are optional if you choose to read & record the text
Decide if you’re going have audio of the Text or Just Text in your video
- Step 10 Plugin in Rode Lapel Mic into your iPhone & attach to shirt…
- Step 11 Turn on Rode app & get ready to record…
- Step 12 When I start Recording I like to record 5- 10 seconds of silence before I start talking, so you have a reference of the ambient noise in the room, Makes it easier to clean up the audio later…
- Step 13 Now I like to read from Google Doc; I just make the Text big, so it’s easy to read…
- Step 14 Read out the words a couple of times to make sure it sounds ok…
- Step 15 I then start reading out each sentence. I try to do this in one take. If I happen to stumble of
over pronouncing a word or some other stuff up, then pause for second clap my hands & start the sentence or phrase again. When you’re editing your audio, you will see spike where you clap so it will be easy to notice and you can edit & cut your stuff up. Later… (If you didn’t make any mistake, you can use your audio)… - Step 16 Save the file to Dropbox…
- Step 17 I Prefer to clean up my audio, nothing worse and more
off putting watching a video with dreadful sound. It’s running your fingers down chalkboard Makes my ears want to bleed… - Step 18 I use iZotope RX (you can read my article on why iZotope RX to clean up my audio)…
Using iZotope RX

- Step 19 open up iZotope RX …
- Step 20 Import Audio file from Dropbox…
- Step 21 I have set up Rx4 to suit my situations, so I can produce good consistent quality Sound…
- Step 22 I use RX to remove Background Noise. Do you realise how noisy your fridge or lights are? – Mics used in exterior shots often pick up too much background noise. Although some background noise is natural, and sometimes even preferable, you can transparently reduce unwanted and ambient noise with the automatic, real-time Dialogue Denoiser…
- Step 23 I cut out my stuff ups & then I run the audio through RX Nectar Plugin to remove Sound pops with Breath controls Then use VoiceOver module to finish off my audio…
- Step 24 Now you’ve got your audio Cleaned up…
I am not going to go into a full blown tutorial on how to use RX Audio Repair & Restoration Software id you want to learn more go to https://www.izotope.com/en/products/repair-and-edit/rx.html
Go to Keynote (Powerpoint)
- Step 25 Open up Keynote…
- Step 26 I use Screenflow to record my Keynote slides & convert them into a video ( In Windows use Camtasia)…
- Step 27 I now put the slides in Presenter mode & start recording…
- Step 28 I don’t record with the audio as I feel this takes too much syncing the slide & audio
…. - Step 29 So I start recording, I base the timing on each slide on how long it takes me to read each slide in my head & a bit extra to allow for transition…
- Step 30 Once I recorded the video, I edit in Screenflow…
Editing Your Videos With Screenflow

- Step 31 So in Screenflow I add the Video & & Audio
Track . I find it much easier & quicker to adjust the video of each slide then muck around to sync audio to the slides. That’s my preference, use whatever works for you… - Step 32 You can drop video footage add any graphics & call outs…
- Step 33 Add your Intros & Outros, branding & call to actions…
- Step 34 Add background Music, make sure it’s Royalty Free. I like Audioforest or Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)…
- Step 35 Save & Export Wide Format 1920 x 1080px Your Computer now has to render your video, so grab a coffee as this requires a lot of grunt from your computer. The longer the video, the more CPU resources you will need…
- Step 36 I save my files to MP4 Format…
Editing Videos is time consuming & takes practice.
We’re not done yet. A 5 minute video could become a massive size of 100’s MiB to GiB. Which takes a long time to upload & chews up peoples bandwidth when they watch.
Compressing your Videos with HandBrake
- Step 37 So before we upload your videos to Facebook & Youtube, we need to compress the size of the videos…
- Step 38 I use HandBrake – a HandBrake is a tool for converting video from nearly any format to a selection of modern, widely supported codecs…

Uploading Your Videos to YouTube & Facebook
- Step 39 Rename video adding keyword & name of article… Don’t be spammy and stuff it with keywords…
- Step 40 Upload to Youtube & optimise to get more views…
- Step 41 Optimise Video, Add Description, Keyword Tags &
Endcards … - Step 42 Create a compelling Thumbnail to grab people attention…
- Step 43 Create a playlist…
- Step 44 Share on Facebook, Twitter or any other social platform you use…
- Step 45 Embed your video on your website…
Whoa That’s a lot of work. I’m tired just thinking of doing all that work.
At the moment I don’t have the time to go through every step to turn my blog posts into videos.
So there just has to be a quicker & easy way to do this job.
I remember reading about a site that uses Artificial Intelligence to create videos from Blog posts.
